TFL Progressive Safe System 2024 (DVS2) Upgrade from DVS 1 2020 Package

DVS 2024 Made Easy!

“Progressive Safe System” including Moving Off Information system “MOIS” and Blind Spot Information System “BSIS".

This is the perfect upgrade package for vehicles already equipped with the 2020 DVS system. If your vehicle already has a near side blind spot camera and turn left warning fitted then you will only need to add the "MOIS" and "BSIS" systems to be compliant.

Background...

The regulations for London's Heavy Goods Vehicle’s are changing and from October 2024 all HGV's over 12 tonnes will need to achieve a 3 star rating if they are to be driven within the London zone. The aim is to reduce collisions and achieve "zero fatalities for vulnerable road users" ie cyclists and pedestrians. The difference between the old and new requirements is mainly new and improved equipment. The new system only detects moving objects such as pedestrians, cyclists and mopeds while ignoring parked cars, wheelie bins and general street furniture. 

The New Equipment Explained...

The MOIS system detects vulnerable road users in the blindspot at the front of the truck and alerts the driver via the display in the centre of the dash as to where the danger is and how far away they are. 

The BSIS system monitors the near side of the vehicle when traveling at low speeds and alerts the driver via the warning LED if a danger is detected. The system will also emit an audible warning if the left turn indicator is engaged alerting the driver to the vulnerable road user before the driver changes lane.

Wosson have conducted vigorous field tests and highly recommend this system for compliance of TFL's DVS 2024 regulations!

As this is a complex safety product Wosson will only be able to offer this as a fully installed solution. * Vehicles will also have to display warning stickers and older vehicles may also be required to install upgraded mirrors, side guards etc. Wosson recommend that you check the full requirement of achieving a 3 star rating directly with TFL.
